About the Business Building Workshop Series:
The ‘Business Building Workshop Series 2012′ is based on the SAFIPA ICT and Mobile Business Building Programme, which was originally compiled by RIIS for ICT and mobile entrepreneurs and small business owners/managers as well as IT departments accross all sectors. The ;Business Building Workshop Series 2012′ is also open to other sectors beyond the ICT and Mobile Industry.

About Coen Bester:

Coen holds an Electronics Engineering degree as well as an MBA from the University of Pretoria and has 30 years of experience in the IT Industry. He started of his professional career as lecturer in electronic engineering at the University of Pretoria, and then served as technology portfolio manager at Armscor. In 1989 he founded the company DataFusion Systems (Pty) Ltd, which specialised in digital voice technology for the emergency services, telecommunications and financial markets. In 1999 he sold off the company to a listed entity. He is the founder and CEO of BrainWorks Management (Pty) Ltd where his focus is the coaching of next generation leaders in high-growth organisations. He has a passion for practical, hands-on advice to emerging leaders.

Coen serves as non-executive chairman of a number of high-tech companies in the IT industry, and also serves on the Advisory Board of a Venture Capital Fund. He completed the Owner-Manager executive program at Harvard Business School, is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach and is a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering.

About Dr Anthon Botha:

Anthon holds a PhD in Physics and is Managing Director of TechnoScene (Pty) Ltd and Executive Director of InnovationLab (Pty) Ltd, a black economic empowered company. TechnoScene operates in the knowledge industry to provide business consulting in the management and commercialisation of knowledge, technology and innovation and facilitates debates and events in the field of science and technology. Anthon Botha often acts as facilitator in environments of interactive debate and long range planning. His work is based on the Management of Technology, Innovation and Knowledge as disciplines, and incorporates futures research, strategic research and business consulting on the impact of emerging, often digital, technologies on the way we live, work, play and transact. He has published numerous research papers, contract reports, white papers and opinions on new technology and future worlds of business and living and is the author of a book: “Knowledge – living and working with it” published by Juta. In 2005 he founded the black economic empowered InnovationLab (Pty) Ltd, a laboratory for future business solutions research based on emerging technologies together with Manchu Group (Pty) Ltd.

About Lloyd Modimogale:

Lloyd has a broad array of experience (over 10 years) within the Information and Communications technology (ICT) environment ranging from business operations support to ICT Leadership. Entrepreneurial in nature, logical, analytical and have the ability to abstract or zoom-in to details. He has been involved in multi-national projects within the telecommunication and utilities industries where a variety of different cultures, countries, and languages had to be balanced in order to achieve a single organizational goal. This resulted in him being comfortable relating and understand employees at all the organisational levels. He is good at bring together different stakeholders and coordination efforts to achieve single objectives. He understands both the business world and the technology world and can easily navigate the two. His strongest asset is that he is a visionary and can use this ability with his technical training to lead or drive objectives.

• Master in Information Technology (MIT) – University of Pretoria
• B.Com (Honours) Informatics – University of Pretoria
• B.Com (Information Systems) – University of Cape Town
