Ideators Coaching by Nico de Klerk
Q: What will be the benefit for a person, the company or the organisation?
- If you know innovation is your passion, this is a way to nurture it
- Enhance clarity and simplicity in thought processes
- Deal with change in a sensitised state of awareness
- Address obstacles
- Empower vision potential
- Become more focused
- Get to know yourself better in the process
- Obviously productivity will follow
Q: Say more about the process and methodology?
It is a well structured process based on the latest research in the field of Neuro-Leadership and can be summarised by the following:
- Goals:
By setting the right goals that will inspire, the coaching process creates commitment, motivation, focus, grabs the attention, build a degree of tension and certainly address the usual comfort zones that can so easily distract us from innovation.
- Strategies:
The first effect of strategies is that it make goals manageable. The client start to take control of the process by acting differently, opening up new possibilities. Strategies also play the role of creating urgency and bring about more focus.
- Actions:
Doing the first two stages correctly facilitates the necessary action steps to be taken and by now the process should generate a lot of energy because of the synergy between goals, strategies and actions.
Obviously knowledge and respect for the human being as such, for the “change” phenomenon and its demands and the context in which a client has to function innovatively, play a major role in how “Ideators Coaching” will be facilitated. Flexibility is of the utmost importance in the process of creating the ideal context for innovation to come to its fullest potential.
Q: What principles are this coaching process based on?
There are 5 Basic principles of Coaching (based on the Results Coaching Systems Model)
- Self directed learning (We all learn better when we find our own answers. This is done through a structured questioning approach, rather than by directing or advising)
- Solution focus (It’s about setting your sights on where you want to be, working towards that while focusing the whole time on the solutions)
- Stretch (Human nature wants to be challenged and stretched to an appropriate degree)
- Positive feedback (Providing positive reinforcement, enhancing confidence and performance)
- Structure (Best results always come from proper organisation to set things up for maximum success)
On the practical side “Ideators Coaching” is facilitated in 12 sessions, 1 hour each at the rate of R1 200 per hour. Phone +27 12 844 0670 or e-mail Audrey@riis.co.za for all information.
