NineSigma Partners with Italy’s Piedmont Region to Accelerate Innovation Among Small and Medium Enterprises
Finpiemonte SpA selects NineSigma through a global bid process to provide open innovation services to companies across Italy’s Piedmont region
CLEVELAND, Ohio – May 11, 2010 – NineSigma, the leading provider of open innovation solutions, announced they have been selected by Finpiemonte SpA for a three-year agreement to establish an open innovation program in Italy’s Piedmont region. Finpiemonte, who is sponsoring the program, is a public holding company that supports economic development and competitiveness in the region. NineSigma will work with Finpiemonte and a local partner, Fareimpresa, to identify needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and perform innovation searches to identify new partners and solutions across the innovation value chain using NineSigma’s database of solution providers and unique search methodology that provides access to both public and non-public domain information.

Finpiemonte supports research, innovation and technology transfer through direct and indirect participation in companies and authorities such as science and technology parks, academic incubators and districts. Through this regional innovation exchange, Finpiemonte will provide funds to SMEs to support the innovation discovery process and acquisition of solutions from innovators identified through NineSigma.
